Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I use my Bluetooth headset with my cell phone?

Yes, but your cell phone must be compliant with the Bluetooth cordless technology. Please note that you will have to pair your headset with the cell phone.

2. What is pairing?

When you are using your headset you typically won’t allow it to link up with everything. You want it to link up with one device at a time. By pairing the headset with another Bluetooth unit your headset will only allow to link up with this unit.

3. Can I take my headset across the Atlantic and use it in the USA?

Yes. You just have to pair it with the phone you are using there. When you get back you have to make a new pairing with you old phone.

4. Can I use my Bluetooth headset with all Bluetooth compliant phones on the market?

Yes.

5. Can I expect that all the functions on the headset will work with all cell phones on the market?

Not all; however, no matter which phone you are using Bluetooth guarantees a minimum of options. The pairing process, hook ON/OFF and transfer an incoming call to the headset will be the same.

6. Will the headset buttons have the same function on all phones?

Yes, but some functions might be disabled by switching to another phone.

7. Can I use my headset with a PC?

Yes, but your PC has to support a Bluetooth Audio gateway.

8. What is an Audio gateway?

An audio gateway is a synchronous duplex wireless connection that is typically used for voice.

9. Can my headset connect to any Bluetooth device?

The answer is yes; however, the Bluetooth device must offer an Audio gateway.

10. Can my headset communicate with any Bluetooth AG (Audio gateway)?

Yes.

11. How many headsets can operate in the same room?

It depends on the distance between the users. You can expect to have up to 50 units running in the same room. You may then have to accept a slight degradation in sound quality.

12. What will happen if too many Bluetooth units are running at the same time?

If there are too many users in the same room it will be difficult to get a link. If you do get a link you will hear that you are loosing part of the voice signal.

13. I have heard that Bluetooth cordless technology is using microwave frequencies - is it safe to use?

It is safe. The power from the headset is more than 100,000 lower than in a microwave oven. The Bluetooth aerial has been designed in a way so it doesn’t radiate into your head.
