GN 1000 Remote Handset Lifter
1. How reliable is the GN 1000?
Extensive research and testing involving hundreds of
different phones and multiple weights of handsets have
proved the GN 1000 extremely reliable. The testing results:
the GN 1000 can lift even the heaviest handset (300 grams)
100,000 cycles.
2. Does the GN 1000 work with any GN Netcom cordless
headset solution?
The GN 1000 is an ideal accessory for any GN Netcom
cordless headset solution, as it will let you answer and end
calls while away from your desk.
3. Can the GN 1000 be attached to newer
non-conventional style telephones?
The GN 1000 is compatible with most telephone styles.
With its superior design, the GN 1000 attaches to virtually
all telephones. Furthermore, an adapter kit for the GN 1000
is included, which will permit attaching it to other more
unique telephone models.
4. Is there anything critical to set up with the GN
1000?
To ensure that the GN 1000 will work properly, make sure
the lifting arm is perpendicular to the handset when the
lifter is attached to the telephone. The body of the GN 1000
will then be parallel to the handset.
5. What type of ring detection does the GN 1000 use?
The GN 1000 incorporates a unique, patented magnetic ring
detection circuit that filters out unwanted noise and
eliminates false rings. This new technology ensures that you
only hear a ring in your headset when there is actually a
call.
6. Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the
ring detection?
Yes, the GN 1000 has a ringer sensitivity adjustment knob
on the back of the unit. With this adjustment knob, you can
increase or decrease the sensitivity of the ring detector
for optimal use at a comfortable ring volume.
7. How does the GN 1000 detect the ring from a
telephone if its ringer is not located under the handset?
For those unique phones, the GN 1000 comes packaged with
an external ring sensor that allows you to place the
magnetic detector over the ringer - and allows you to keep
your ringer volume at a comfortable level.
8. Does the GN 1000 have an On-Line-Indicator (OLI)?
Yes, in fact, the GN 1000 is the only handset lifter that
has a built in OLI. When you are on a call the OLI, located
on the top of the lifter housing, will remain illuminated.
Once the call is completed and the handset lowered back into
the cradle, the OLI light will turn off. The LED also acts
as a visual ringer by flashing when the telephone rings.
9. How many lifter height adjustment settings does the
GN 1000 have?
The GN 1000 is equipped with a 6-position height
adjustment lever on the top of the lifter arm. Slide the
lever toward the plus sign to raise the lifter and toward
the minus sign to lower it.
10. What type of drive motor is used in the GN 1000?
The GN 1000 uses a Mabuchi motor, the same type of highly
reliable motor used in razors and CD and DVD drives. The
sealed motor provides quiet operation and keeps dust and
dirt out—increasing long-term reliability.
11. When using the GN 1000 with a cordless headset
beltpack system, can I use my telephone's speakerphone
without hearing unwanted rings from the beltpack?
Yes. The GN 1000 is equipped with a Ring Sensor On/Off
button located on the front of the unit. When using the
speakerphone, press the button to disable the sensor. Upon
completion of the speakerphone call, press the button again
to reactivate the sensor. |
